Maltese Ambassador in Moscow Raymond Sarsero recently visited the Malta pavilion at the annual MITT travel exhibition on March 20 to discuss current developments and the growth potential of the Russian market for the Maltese tourism industry.
Together with Deputy Head of Mission and Consul Nikola Soukmandjiev, and Counsellor Eric Cachia, he met with International Marketing Director Joseph Galea, Malta Tourism Office Representative Anthony J. Caruana, and a number of visiting Maltese travel companies as well as Russian tour operators.
Mr Sarsero explained that this year’s prospects promise a better year than last year when 31,726 visitors visited Malta. It is predicted that arrivals from Russia to Malta will be over 40,000.
During an evening reception hosted by MTA for the Russian tourism trade and media stakeholders, Ambassador Sarsero distributed Malta Club membership certificates to twenty Moscow tour operators.
